UPDATE: I contacted the company and they offered to send me a replacement. I even made a deal with them that if I could pick the replacement lock just as easily as the old one, they would give me double the money back. I liked the trust so I went with it instead of just asking for a refund. I'm glad I did! MUCH HARDER NOW! I don't know when they changed the design or I just had a defective one. But I can't open a new one manually. I found another one in my closet that I forgot to buy that also seems reliable. So, either they changed the design - it could have been a long time ago - or I just got a bad one. Either way. I'm canceling my original review and giving it 4 stars for what it is. It's not Fort Knox, but the current locks they supply are impossible to pick by hand. They are lightweight and handy for locking your belongings in relatively safe places. I would only rely on it to keep casual thieves at bay, but I'm impressed with the current build quality. I will leave my original review but would have no hesitation in recommending this to people now. And the company responded to my email very quickly. Attached is the updated video. I wish Revain would let me play both videos, but the first one just shows me picking an old and/or broken lock with my bare hands. I have two newer locks that seem much more secure. ORIGINAL REVIEW: I bought one of these helmet locks about a year ago. I just got back on my bike and the code I've been using for a year no longer works. I tried my usual combination, 000, and all the digits on either side of the three digits I had chosen for my code. Nothing helped. I ended up just opening it with my bare hands. It was great because it allowed me to pick up my helmet and go home. But it was also really awful because it means the helmet lock is COMPLETELY NOT SECURE. I've attached a video showing how easy it is to pick a lock. This product must be withdrawn from sale immediately and all previously used must be recalled.
