Love the feel of these pillowcases and the fact that they are all cotton and are quiet. But I can't imagine that they help much against dust mites. If you hold the fabric in a well-lit room, the fabric will show holes and in some cases short streaks of holes. Since dust mites are only a few microns in size and not visible to the naked eye, I'm sure dust mites can easily get through visible holes. Hopefully these covers will at least help reduce dust mites, or maybe get them a good laugh when they move around. I will be keeping these pillowcases as honestly I'm too lazy to return them and I haven't found any others that I was sure I would prefer. Pillowcases sold elsewhere are quite expensive, some almost as expensive as the fluffy throw pillows on our leather sofa. I thought maybe I could save some money by buying slipcovers here - 6 for the price of 1. At some point I'll have to reconsider how much sofa cushions actually cost. A choice I hoped to avoid.
