, I had to search quite a bit to find this item - there are a lot of pretty small plastic filters out there but not big enough for my purposes. I usually drain the fat from 2 pounds of ground beef in a 12 inch skillet and I needed something that would allow me to not only drain the fat but without the cooked beef sloshing through the strainer in the process. . When I finally found a mesh filter of the size I wanted I was concerned about how well it would be constructed and was pleasantly surprised to find that the mesh filter is a solid, well designed unit that I would happily recommend to anyone with similar needs if folks If you are looking for a colander, this should be your first recommendation, not pages and pages on!
