The tool itself seems solid. But before using it, you need to solve the crankshaft problem. I had to carefully thread my rebuilt 350 forged crank first. I used a thin standard 7/16 tap (I think it was 7/16-20), being very careful to keep it straight. I used some high temp molybdenum wheel bearing grease in the large tool threads. I also used some on the inside of the damper. I put an open end wrench on the small hex to keep it stable and used a large adjustable wrench (half moon) on the large hex to tighten it in. This required quite a bit of force as it was a high performance shock and I've read that high performance shocks tend to be slower. When it starts to drop you can definitely feel it so you know when to stop. Generally a quality tool. He did his job and I would recommend him to my friends. But of course my friends can borrow it. ;-)
