I wasn't sure at first. I bought a very large one because I have large calves. The first time I tried on a pair was when they arrived and right after work. As expected, they were snug, took a bit of work (I haven't worn compression stockings for a long time) and after 10 minutes of use the imprint of the pattern was left on my legs. The impression lasted at least 10-15 minutes. After that I was worried they were too tight although they were quite comfortable. I also wondered if there would be problems with patterns. The next time I decided to wear them to work and when I got home there were no impressions and they felt very good on my feet. I think the templates were originally printed because it was after work and my feet were slightly swollen from all day's climbing and dismounting. But I love these socks and recommend them to others. I'll probably get some more. And it's actually not that hard to put on. Simply pull the sock over your foot and then gently pull upwards, piece by piece.
