Review on πŸŒ€ AC Infinity T8 AIRCOM – Ultra-Quiet Rear-Exhaust Cooling Blower Fan System for Receivers, Amplifiers, DVRs, and AV Cabinet Components by Jim Bethea

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Much better than I thought

I have an old Antec 'Sounddesign' attachment for my receiver which I bought in 2012. blast the heck, no pun intended. I bought this one because I was interested in the so-called smart features and I was looking for a replacement that is a little quieter than the Antec version. What was fascinating about this particular purchase was that there were three fans and the ability to daisy chain additional fans. Since I keep the receiver in a cabinet and the doors are always closed, I was able to hook up some extra fans, which I also bought from Revain, and cut some holes in the back of my fan cabinet and the smart function will adjust based on the temperature reading coming from the receiver, which allows you to increase and decrease the fan speed depending on the temperature. This is an amazing feature. The fans are very quiet. So what this basically means is that I now have five fans in the case, three on the pod, and two additional fans daisy-chained in the back, blowing air out the back of the case. I can hear all five fans running at maximum speed, but they're noticeably quieter than my two-fan Antec. In comparison, I'd say it's just a low hum compared to a medium hum. The quality of the fans is much better than my old Antec so this was a great purchase for me. But I don't know why it's so damn expensive other than a rolled metal case. My Antec was about $30 and this one is $120. Perhaps the technology that caused the expense is the smart temperature control feature. However. cool addition.
