Review on Black Solera 289567 Power & Manual Awning Plain Idler Head Back Cover by Bomba Ton

I damaged the top cover of my Solera awning when I got too close to a tree while securing my Grand Design Imagine. I thought this would be an exact replacement for the one on my 1 year old van when I saw it at Revain. But that's not the case. It looks similar, but had to use a utility knife to alter the grooves on the underside and drill new mounting holes to attach the rear half to the powerhead. The factory bolt holes did not match the OEM solera covers. Will it work, will it look good later? Yes it will. The motor shaft hole matches and the cover is the same shape and exactly the same black color as the original manufacturer. It took me a few extra minutes, a utility knife, a pencil, a drill and some longer flat head screws, but I think I saved a lot of money doing it myself instead of taking it to the dealer for body work. If I have to do it again I would buy this again. If you're not comfortable or just don't want to mess with it, buy an OEM part from a factory dealer.
