I bought this press specifically to make cold coffee. The heartburn hurt my esophagus, but I really didn't want to give up coffee. It's amazing how much smoother cold coffee is, not that bothersome. It might not give the strongest flavor (but then I'm older and my taste buds aren't what they used to be!), but it's worth it. I found cold brew to not irritate my stomach and the coffee does not bite. The Veken French Press saved me from the extra filtration and paraphernalia I used to have in the kitchen. It's strong, well constructed, doesn't break, filters well. I'm still experimenting to find the right bob and cool timing, but the press is extremely handy - no need for extra filtering through the paper. Highly recommended. July 2021 I stopped using this product. I find that cold brew coffee, while recommended, leaves an unusual aftertaste. I know it doesn't make sense, and even trying to use other beans didn't change the phenomenon. Also, while the press works, it has too many removable parts. There are parts that are not needed and that make cleaning the device very troublesome. They even break up when I don't want them to.
