I didn't want to give a bad review based on several factors, so I gave it 3 stars. A few things to note: - Although it holds back gravity, it holds your phone pretty well as long as it's on the smaller side. So don't be afraid that the phone will fall out if it fits well. Bigger and thicker phones won't fit in the four small grips that hold the phone in place; They flex a bit and allow for a little more size variation, but are still a long way from fitting my phone in an OtterBox. I love ratchet phone holders but they end up tearing off the gears and not working anymore. Given the short time I've had it, I would guess that if it works at all, it will likely last a long time. Nothing seems particularly prone to wear and tear. All of these air vent mounted phone holders seem to use the same model/design which even if your phone is a bit heavy will NOT stay attached to the air vent indefinitely. Eventually, the two tabs that attach it to the vent come loose and it pulls away from the vent until the entire mount falls off during the movement. After about 2-3 weeks you will need to reinstall the vent mount every few days to keep it from loosening. However, this is a bleed error and not specific to this particular brand. Installing a dashboard will cause you fewer problems in the long run.
