Review on Dvd740I 16X Internal Writer Lightscribe by Tony Wylie

I bought this CD a month ago but I still can't get the light writer to work. The discs burned fine, but the Lightpeacebear kept saying "unidentified media" or other variants of the same error. This was done with the bundled HP drive that came with the drive. I bought several Verbatim CDs at Walmart. Same mistake. I gave up, tried negotiating with HP support to have it replaced, and finally ran into enough non-English speaking people and various 1-800 numbers. I gave up and just wanted to forget the Lightribe. However, today I was shopping at best and noticed a couple of Memorex CDs on sale so I decided to give them a try. I bought a pack and lo and behold, the Light Rib worked it up the first time. So I think the drive is just ridiculously picky about the media you use. Be careful buying this drive as it was a disappointment for me but I think it worked in the end while I buy Memorex drives.
