Review on πŸš— Dorman 955-1444 Passenger Side Power Door Mirror - Compatible with Various Toyota Models by Owen Blanco

Revainrating 5 out of 5

A great substitute for a mirror if you know what you're doing.

My van is from 1999 and for the price it's a very good replacement for the broken mirror it replaced. But one after anonther. Check your existing fork. 5 pin adapter or just 3? As I wrote in a comment on one of the other reviews your mirrors will likely get hot if you have 5 pin so you don't need this mirror. I ordered this mirror not knowing I have heated mirrors (my wife drives a van and I don't know and she doesn't know about these things) but I was able to pull the pins out of the old mirror connector and swap out the connectors. . Not difficult once I realized there is a clip to hook onto the belly of the fork. Look closely and you will see. It's the connector at the end of the mirror side. This will release the pins, then a toothpick or similar is inserted into the pin slots in the right place to release another clip in each of the slots and the pins will pop out slightly. Then I just plugged them into the appropriate grooves of the standard connector after removing it from the old mirror and they plugged it into me. So the heated mirror is gone, but the woman probably won't notice the onset of winter. If you want your mirrors to be heated, don't order this one. If you don't know if you have heated mirrors or not and you don't care, you can order this and retrofit the adapter and the motor functions will work properly.
