Highly recommended by someone who doesn't usually care about RAM

When it comes to RAM, I'm usually very unenthusiastic. In the age of DDR4, where even a base frequency of 2133MHz is more than enough for 95% of applications and games, and many hours are spent tweaking speeds and timings, never results in a performance increase of more than 1%, I usually spend a lot much little. purchase effort. I usually pick the best middle ground for the price (typically 3000-3200MHz). I was even less excited when "RGB RAM" started to become a thing, especially with the first Vengeance sticks that Corsair released with the rainbow fin on top. I laughed at the people who bought them, but after creating my own loop last week and seeing the empty/dark area where my existing DIMMs lay, I hypocritically decided to order these newer Platinums, which admittedly are Have a much more attractive RGB layout than the original Vengeance sticks did. I was not disappointed. From the moment they first turned on, they completely tied all the bling together in my system. Using individual LEDs instead of previously mixed LEDs, they really do support the digital/pixel design language you prefer in your system with all the other square/blocky components on your motherboard. There are some really great effects that are fully customizable in iCUE, as you would expect. I've seen a noticeable performance improvement in some intense games that I couldn't correlate to anything other than an increase in RAM speed (I used to be at 3000MHz), so I'd recommend the upgrade if you have slower DDR4 RAM. The XMP profile for 3466 MHz worked exactly as you would expect out of the box. I haven't tried overclocking and probably won't.

Pros
  • It's done
Cons
  • Reliability
