I wouldn't pay too much attention to the negative reviews on this camcorder. Obviously they are not using it properly. Of course, this article doesn't come with a great manual out of the box, but the full manual is online. Just google. A few things I noticed that people forget before rating this product. There is a transparent protective sticker on the lens itself. It's almost imperceptible. You need to film it with this camcorder before recording. trial and error on my part. My first few videos looked like webcam footage, only a little better. I was scared and thought I had shit on my hands. Then I took off the sticker and it changed the world. Talk about clarity! There is a macro, portrait and landscape mode switch on the side of the camcorder. I found the landscape setting to be the clearest, while the macro setting works well for your close-up shots. I haven't had a need for a portrait setting yet. The image stabilizer mostly works if you remember to turn it on. For some reason, when I turn the camcorder off and on again, it doesn't stay on. Therefore, you have to turn it on manually every time. Not a big deal and I still plan on using a table tripod for a lot of my shoots. The sound is pretty loud and clear, and for now that's enough. You can't get all that for a hundred bucks, you know? If you are on a tight budget but have that creative flaw in you then you will really love this product and if done right you will be able to create real quality. Video.
