I bought these backs because there are so many different styles of backs and if I lose one back I'm left with a hundred more. The pins are different sizes and at least one of these backs fits every earring I wear. Some backrests are rigid so they don't move, but there are a few styles that are more rubbery and fit any bar size because they adjust to any bar size. All my posts are round and I haven't had any problems. Sometimes I've seen flat stud earrings in stores and I don't think they will fit.
