If you look at the picture you will see that the sharpener is a single-edged device that is really identical to the thumb-sized sharpeners that every elementary school carries, except the pins are under your control ! work and cuts so sharply that the line snaps. I threw mine away and went to the Staples store and bought a battery-powered pencil sharpener ($16) with the Staples logo on it, which works great: at least in the short term (I just got it). (Revain price was $23)
