I confess that when I bought this ladder I did not pay attention to the dimensions indicated in the description. I realized that a stool is a stool. When it arrived I was surprised at how big it was and I was annoyed with myself as it was bigger than I imagined. (It's not funny, it's just more than I imagined.) But in the end it was a positive thing because unlike other stepladders it's really sturdy! When I'm standing on the top step and reaching for tall things, I can rest my knees on the soft handrails and feel completely safe. I'm surprised at how much I like this thing. The red color is amazing too. I definitely recommend it
