Let me preface this review by saying I have horses, so I'm at the barn all the time and I'm tough on my boots. These boots look great, and they come in half sizes, which is hard to find in a muck boot. I didn't cut the boots open but I'm pretty sure the shank is made of cardboard. The foot bed is awful, I took out the inner soles that came with them to add in a pair of gel soles to make them more comfortable and it was then I realized those rock hard soles were the only thing supporting the bottom of the boot - without them, they are flimsy and you feel every tiny rock you walk on. The neoprene is weird too, its not the breathable kind, so I bought these to have a summer weight boot instead of always wearing tall boots but since these don't breath, I'm better off wearing my quality tall boots. If you are just going to the grocery store or going to walk the dogs, these are probably fine but if you need a quality, comfortable boot that you can put some wear on, these aren't them.
