This is a good pair of boots, fluffy warm and very light. And the grip of the sole is also good. However, the main disadvantage is that the boots are too short for playing in the snow and the opening is loose. The snow easily goes straight inside. So I don't think it's a good option for winter boots, but it will definitely work as a good casual boot in winter. As for sizing, my daughter usually wears shoes in a large child size 1.5, and this size 2.5 fits her. So I think it's a bit small. Consider a larger size.
