After I lost my WIDI, upgrading my laptop to Windows 10 allowed me to connect directly to my old TV. Hooking it up was easy and it didn't take long to figure out which input to switch the TV to. The only problem I had was when I connected the HDMI port to my TV, my laptop went black. I've tried many settings on the laptop display, selecting dual monitors, etc., but nothing has worked. All I do is play a movie, then plug in an HDMI cable and use my mouse to maneuver around the TV screen. I also switched the TV display to expanded view so I can see the icons on the movie's play or pause button. I gave this 5 stars because my problem is with my laptop or tv? Hope this helps someone :)
