On fair hair it is very light and pastel in color when applied dry. Colour. As for the method of applying a comb versus a sponge. The comb is not suitable for curls. You need to straighten the curls but you still miss the spots. So if you don't have straight hair, maybe try other options like cream color, also known as wax. Thought it would be faster at best. At worst, it's easier. It's better than loose chalk, but not as good as thick sponge chalk.
