This power supply is absolutely silent (according to past usage). Case to maintain reliable performance. As for the cables, I'm used to rounding cables on modular blocks, they have dark grey/black wires that run flat to each other (the wires are insulated from each other). It was a little bothersome when padding in the back, but that's probably because I've gotten used to it, how I deal with it (personal note, I find round ones look a lot cleaner than flat ones). The connectors snap securely and easily into place. to avoid some of the problems I had with other devices. The build quality of the device itself is very good, and they include silicone rubber grommets that fit into pre-drilled holes on the front and back to dampen vibrations. however, they slide back quite easily. All in all a good unit, a bit overpriced compared to built in, but you couldn't beat the price at the time and allow for future upgrades. The only thing I don't like is the flat cables, but your experience might be the complete opposite.
