The primary benefit of all contemporary Roombas is the innovative dual silicone roller cleaning system that outperforms rivals at carpet vacuuming. I would select either i7 or s9 if the majority of the floors are carpeted. The self-cleaning base is the second benefit. As far as I am aware, iRobot was the first to provide such a base; it is excellent and highly practical. But if you purchased a robot without a base and are considering purchasing the base separately, you won't see it for sale; instead, you'll need to place an international order. The navigation algorithms used by this robot, which use simple cameras and pokes to guide them, make the most of the company's extensive experience in the construction of robots. Nevertheless, in 2022, this method of navigation already appears antiquated because the robot broke the table and chair legs in the first week, trimmed its entire bumper, and frequently gets lost between the same chair legs when it is finished cleaning. LiDAR-based navigation is a more sophisticated alternative. The only place where LiDAR falls short of VSLAM camera navigation is around curtains, which don't pose a problem for Roomba but pose an impassable challenge to other robots. I was also let down by the battery, which is insufficient for hard cleaning on 30 square meters (in this mode, the robot goes through each room twice). The robot leaves for "refueling" every time it runs out of time to finish cleaning, charges for a half-hour, then returns to clean for two minutes. There would be no issues if charging took only five minutes. I start cleaning each day because I have a dog at home. I have to do a "intense cleaning" that goes through all the rooms twice in order to truly not have a single crumbs on the floor (maybe I'm being picky). But I don't have any carpets! A competitor (I won’t name it so that they don’t blame that the review was ordered) is removed faster, quieter and cleaner.
