Cats love it - that's the problem.

Even after reading the reviews I thought maybe this thing isn't that bad so I gave it a try. They said it was too small - well my cats are small and even if they crush him it's fine. They said it's not like the photo - the sisal part is much smaller and doesn't go over the hump like the picture. Well I think that would be fine and I foolishly thought the product would probably still be like the picture. It was only when I received it that I remembered another criticism that should have put me off if I hadn't forgotten it. staples. Friends, it's not just a few staples here and there. It's about one clip per inch, up on one side and down on the other. Sisal is really a small panel on the front of the hump. I have a hard time imagining how a cat could comfortably dig in it, especially since the edge where the sisal meets the carpet goes right over the hump and is *double thick and full of staples*. And I might not even notice if the staples were well buried in the material and I was sure they would stay in place. I didn't even have time to fully form this illusion before it was shattered. I pulled about half a dozen loose staples out of the piping and carpet. Hand. There are no tools. Also the TAG WAS LISTED. I had to pick out these staples with needle nose pliers. I wanted it to work. I wished so badly that cats wouldn't sharpen their claws on different carpets. So I posted it for her anyway. They were playing with a feather toy. It was delicious. They got a good scratch or two and it looked like maybe everything would be fine. They avoided staples. They played in the tunnel. We were all sipping mimosas on the sunny deck of a yacht in the Caribbean and laughing happily. It wasn't meant to be. Screecher didn't last 24 hours. I've attached some photos of the wreck - close your eyes if you're feeling faint of heart. Scratch is dead. Long live Scribble. I want my money back.
