I haven't seen anyone with the same issue as us so not sure what to think. We installed Costco Kirkland batteries and the light worked great, we left it on timer mode and the light gradually dimmed each day until it was almost dark, I would say 10 days later. Then one night we were sitting in the living room and we heard the sound of fireworks, it was around the 4th of July so we thought it was fireworks, the next night around the same time we heard it again and the third night around the same time we heard it we hear a loud bang again. Upon closer inspection, we found that the "crack" came from the headlight's battery box! We then took a closer look and found the batteries were leaking acid, then we checked three other lamp sets that were running on a timer and they were all leaking acid! A bang will sound when the timer tries to turn on. Acid ran onto the mantelpiece. So we're not sure what to make of this as we haven't seen anyone with this issue yet.
