Review on Partsam Ratchet Straps Heavy Strength Motorcycle & Powersports and Accessories by Tyler Smith

Three hits and you're out!

I give this Partsam ratchet tie down set two stars for potential and value. But I won't use them to secure cargo. je. And due to poor customer service not supporting their product, I cannot recommend them to anyone at any cost. The first issue was the shifting of the locking mechanism, which made it difficult to release the belt under tension. See image. One of the side rails was wider than it should be, so the latch went in and got stuck. We needed a screwdriver to pry the latch open. I contacted Partssam but as the return period had expired they offered me a discount if I bought another set. The second problem appeared after the second use of the straps. There is noticeable slack in the belt. See last picture. This time, that stretch was enough to loosen the strap slightly, but the strap was definitely loose. There may have been some rubbing, but the tape wasn't installed through sharp or angular edges. The other strap has some color from the circular black stripe and shows only minor scuffs. After decades of using this type of strap, I've only seen this on older straps and when they were typically mounted on a square or narrow edge. The last problem is losing the pin holding the mainshaft together. The shaft sections were misaligned and the ratchet was almost ready to fall apart. Instead of a cotter pin, Partssam used a bent piece of metal. The pin is lost now, but on other ratchets the bent metal is weak and barely flexes. So used three times and three different glitches. Not a good result. At $42 for a set of four heavy-duty belts, it was about $18 less than RhinoUSA or other vendors that endorse their product.
