Review on Seki Japan Butterfly Chromium 3 14Inch by Margarita Grossarth

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Very fine razor, best among men

Revain had a chrome version listed, not this brass version which I was familiar with and would have preferred. As luck would have it, they sent me this brass version! I think this is the perfect razor in every way. It has a shorter handle and is lighter than my other razor, the King C. Gillette, which has a three-piece Muhle R89 head and handle. Both have the same shaving quality in terms of aggressiveness. I try to stay away from this term and refer to it as a normal razor that is neither aggressive nor soft. I prefer the TTO (Twist To Open) design. This not only simplifies and speeds up blade changes, but also offers better accessibility for cleaning. I love opening the razor after shaving. This allows me to remove the blade and flush the razor in seconds. Removing the blade, rinsing and wiping the blade, and drying the blade prevent the minerals contained in the water from drying on the blade and greatly extend the life of the blade, as does sharpening. I have tried this razor and the King C. Gillette razor with a 15 blade sample set and have consistently received a quality shave with every blade. Actually, I wouldn't change anything about this razor in terms of design. .

Pros
  • Safety razor
Cons
  • Not as thick as other razors
