Tibetan water offering bowls

I purchased these water offering bowls for the Tibetan Buddhist shrine. Losar is February 19. I like them because they are small, take up less space, and require less water which is good in this drought although I do save the water at the end of the day (and use it on plants). If you purchase them you must prepare them, and be familiar with their proper use and care. They are not for decoration. These are not solid, they are plated.

Pros
  • Traditionally placed on Buddhist shrine, altar filled with water every morning as a way of collecting merit and virtue.
Cons
  • Some users may find the requirement for traditional water offerings to be restrictive, as it limits the use of the bowls for other purposes or in other ways

These are no WATER offering bowls! They rusted the very first time when I put water in them, EVERY SINGLE ONE of them. Is the material brass? I think it''s just ferric, the color of the rust is orange/red. Some of the reviewers, DONT TELL ME IT''S BEAUTIFUL! It''s rude even to offer water with rusted bowls to a friend, let alone Buddha! If you are a believer, STOP DOING THAT! If you don''t even want to drink from the bowl, don''t offer it to the Buddha! It''s disrespectful!
