I bought this because my dog went deaf when he was 13. I needed a collar with different vibration levels to get his attention. His e-collar we used only had 1 vibration level and 10 shock levels. All I needed was a vibration to get his attention - shocking him to get his attention is not the right method. All you have to do is give a small shock for correction after the voice command, and what is heard from the collar will be ignored. I wanted to start at the lowest level and work my way up to the level that would get his attention, and then if he didn't get his attention or he wanted to ignore it, I could move up. I put it on my wrist, arm, and leg to see if I could tell the difference between 1 and 16 or any other level. To be honest, I don't think I really felt a big difference. It works to get his attention, but I need to make sure the collar is a snug fit. He's a golden mix.
