Overview: 2 pcs. BAOFENG UV-82 Plus 8w/4w/1w These are Baofeng UV-82 HP type radios. The quality matches the cost. I had some of the older UV-5 types. I prefer these, the case feels more solid and the radio is less "buggy" and the sound quality is also better compared to the UV-5 models. The TX/RX signal quality seems to be comparable to my Kenwood TH-F8 on local repeaters. The additional, extra (2x) 3800mah batteries and (2x) 771 (approx) antennas are what drew me to this kit. These radios are designed for amateur radio use, but can also transmit to other devices (MURS/FRS/Marine/GMRS/Business). Note that non-amateur use of the transmitter is illegal, use with extreme caution on non-amateur bands. To be safe and use receive only, turn off full duplex and only use the channels you have programmed. Then you have a very good low budget scanner radio. Enjoy with care. Ken, K6WGX ;) Edit: I added a picture to compare the standard battery size vs the extended battery. The radio gets some height at the expense of extra cells. It still feels good and firm in your hand.
