Now to add to my 1st review of this fan, "after" replacing the defective one which I sent back. I quickly got a replacement for the fan, which began to vibrate after about a month. I only had 1 issue with the replacement. When switched on, the fan initially rotates in the opposite direction before it works properly. But then it works very well. I got it at the end of December and it's now May and the fan was just running at very low speed and was making a grinding noise. Checked the site, it's out of production. I'm just afraid I lost $75 on a piece of junk. I sent the first one back because it started vibrating after about a month. This replacement does exactly the same thing, just with a different vibrating sound, and yes. It also gets a little worse over time. It cleans well. This is very easy with the removable fan hood. You can use this fan with mains or batteries. Yes! During the loading process! This is a great fan if you can keep your silent fan promise. Just get rid of those stupid vibrations that keep coming and going and this will be one of the best compact fans available at a reasonable price!
