I had a temporary ileostomy in May. The hospital gave me the basics, no m9 or odor control gear. My family ran out of my hospital room when I went to the bathroom to empty my bag. I received a free sample from Hollister that included compression packs and I've started using them. They have a significant impact on odor development when emptying a drainable Hollister. My people don't walk anymore. Please note that the deodorant function works well with liquids and semi-solids, but cannot deal with gas that has accumulated in the bag. I use the m9 air spray extensively when producing unusual amounts of gas. I also use the PooPouri again in the toilet before emptying the device. This will help reduce the odor coming out of the bowl before rinsing. It cannot do anything about gas emissions.
