I bought this to replace the old one that was on my 1982 Yamaha IT465. I bought several different jets (pilot, needle, main) and when I decided to install a replacement needle jet it protruded about 1/4 inch into the bottom of the float chamber. It was the right type of injector. Ship VM-38 without "fuel glass". If you want to keep the stock needle jet, that's no problem. However, if you want to put another nozzle on it, you will need a "fuel cup" to hold the needle nozzle properly. Also, the air mixture screw on this new carb is where the idle screw is on my old one, and the idle screw on this new carb is on the same side as the idle screw. the air mixture screw, and on my old carburetor it was on the opposite side of the fuel inlet.
