The best carburetor for street athletes

Great carburetor. I bought it for my 1980 Ironhead Float project. It replaced the stock AMF Keihin. Smooth throttle transitions and better throttle response.

Pros
  • Cool product
Cons
  • Disappear

Works perfectly! best in carburetors

Installed on a 1975 1200cc Sportster with aftermarket cams and exposed tailpipes. Works perfectly. Due to the exposed exhaust pipes, I had to install a larger idle jet. Much better than a stock Harley carburetor.

Pros
  • Durable finish
Cons
  • Almost never

Working fine a year later

running on xv700 1985 bought all new injectors but still with original cap and needle. An amazing part that's a lot easier to set up than the ridiculous standard twin, triple, octal carbs or whatever your bike had.

Pros
  • Weight
Cons
  • I vaguely remember

very simple and easy to set up

I used this carb on a 1985 Frankenstein Kawasaki Vulcan 700. very simple and easy to set up. Being a cable is a bit of an issue as sometimes you have to step on the gas to get it down, but that's not a problem for me.

Pros
  • Ideal for a small house
Cons
  • Upgradable

Put it on and it works great! Easy to set up

I have a 1976 Sportster that had this installed. Not the original carb of course, but someone before me installed the intake system with one of these VM38-9s. As soon as I assembled the engine, I turned on this carburetor, it started, but it worked intermittently. I was going to rebuild this carburetor but for $98 shipping I bought this new one. Put it on and it works great! Easy to set up. I also bought a K&N HD-0200 air filter which is a perfect match for the original air filter.

Pros
  • good stuff
Cons
  • problems

slightly different from the original

I bought this to replace the old one that was on my 1982 Yamaha IT465. I bought several different jets (pilot, needle, main) and when I decided to install a replacement needle jet it protruded about 1/4 inch into the bottom of the float chamber. It was the right type of injector. Ship VM-38 without "fuel glass". If you want to keep the stock needle jet, that's no problem. However, if you want to put another nozzle on it, you will need a "fuel cup" to hold the needle nozzle properly. Also, the…

Pros
  • Everything is fine!
Cons
  • boring package

The item arrived with a manufacturing defect.

Arrived quickly but had major flaws in the slide. I don't know if it's the distributor's fault, factory quality control or something else, but someone was fooling around. And I'm still stuck without a carburetor. ****Update*** Got another carb, I suspect they just repackaged this one, very similar markings but the first one had some friction scratches that aren't there. Here. Remember that this hole is exactly where your airflow will always be, unless you're a hydraulics expert I wouldn't bet…

Pros
  • Decent performance
Cons
  • Modern

It comes with instructions.

This is not a fake Mikuni, this is a real Mikuni. Fakes are sold, this company does not sell fake Mikuni. It was a straight screw with its mount for my 74 Ironhead. I used an old wrench and made a support bracket underneath and replaced the manifold adapter hose clamp with fancy exhaust clamps which were perfect. The air filter was purchased from a local auto parts store and also sold at Revain but I forgot to order it and it was a direct fit, no adapter needed. The valve timing has recently…
