Review on 🔧 Upgraded Mikuni Round Slide VM Series Carburetor - 38mm VM38-9 by Centerfold Montague

This is not a fake Mikuni, this is a real Mikuni. Fakes are sold, this company does not sell fake Mikuni. It was a straight screw with its mount for my 74 Ironhead. I used an old wrench and made a support bracket underneath and replaced the manifold adapter hose clamp with fancy exhaust clamps which were perfect. The air filter was purchased from a local auto parts store and also sold at Revain but I forgot to order it and it was a direct fit, no adapter needed. The valve timing has recently been checked as this is a very sensitive carburetor and when properly adjusted is one of the best I have ever had. However, no instructions have been included as the uses are so diverse that there are free downloads of Mikuni instructions available online. It requires a little mechanical skill to connect it. One thing that is highly recommended is a fuel filter if your bike doesn't already have one, and also no matter what you read online make sure the float is set correctly. The only problem I had was with the carb overflowing and escaping gas through the overflows and that was because the floats weren't set the way it holds up on my bike. It is sensitive to angles when seated. I highly recommend that you get in the habit of turning off the throttle when the bike is parked, just in case. Any degree of contamination will result in the needle valve remaining open. This is because the carburetor is so accurate and so sensitive, don't mistake it for an inferior one.
