Better than nothing

Better than nothing. and that's what i learned i had. I recently received a 2003 Forester from my grandmother and a huge list of "receipts" for work done on the car. found that the Ohio store took a lot of money from her and did no work. or they replaced parts I made recently with cheap ones (NGK Iridiun copper spark plugs on Autolite, K&N filters on frames, Akebono brake pads on nameless, etc.). I was wondering why the car gets very dusty inside, so I decided to look at the cabin filter. Came to find out it's gone and was thrown out a few months ago and will never be replaced by the shop that charged my grandma 60 grand to fit a Subaru OE filter (according to the receipt). The plastic frame of this filter is cheap. and bends easily, will likely crack and break if you adjust it roughly. The air filter element has several pin-sized holes, so pollen or dust particles are not optimally filtered. but it's much better than having nothing. And at only $7 for the charcoal version, that's at least 7 times cheaper than the invisible filter my grandma paid for but never received. Next time I will order some well known brand filters from RockAuto to compare with some issues I have with this Potauto brand filter (cheap/weak plastic, pinholes in the filter media).
