So I don't know the exact term for this, but if you run your hand over any brush-like bristles, the bristles will retain their memory and return to their original position. Well, with this sponge, which is what it essentially is, if you press the sponge too hard or too hard, the bristles will be crushed and remain irreversible. This reduces your cleaning options as there is less surface area available for mixing. To be honest, it seems like you could just get a kitchen sponge that's less rough and works better than this one, especially if you only use it on hard plastic countertops. for leather i would simply prefer an upholstery brush with a drill. Copes quickly with any dirt.
