My kids love the most artistic or creative things and when we saw this we thought it would be interesting to try it. I've seen several types of similar projects, but this is the first time we've tried them. It's very simple and anyone can do it, but it takes time and a certain amount of patience. It's like a combination of puzzle and paint by number. So if you like this type of activity, you will probably like this one too. In the kit you will find everything you need to create a beautiful and colorful work of art. The small pen tip is just the right size to accommodate the small "diamonds" and is a lifesaver. Without her it would be almost impossible to place all colored elements. Colors come individually boxed so you don't have to try and sort through them to find the color you want. The lettering is a bit fuzzy at times, but it's clear enough to tell which color should be where. I recommend opening a color and placing them all (or as many as you can find at the moment) on the page before moving on to the next color. When finished it looks pretty and ready to be framed and hung on the wall. There are a few little things that I think would have made it a little better and that's why I didn't give it the full five stars. First, although the dimensions are clearly marked, some of the images in the listing make it appear larger, what he really is. This is roughly the same as putting two sheets of paper (8.5 x 11) side by side, so hanging alone on the wall or over the bed the pictures appear out of scale. Keep this in mind if you intend to buy for decorative purposes. Second, it would be nice if a second applicator was included so two people could work together. We may end up doing this more often, so we'll be saving the handle from this for use with other kits in the future. Whilst I am very happy that they send additional diamonds of each color it would be nice if they came in resealable bags. If you go by color, you're likely to miss something here or there. If you don't keep them separate and label them it will be a nightmare to go back and find out which diamond is which color. We have small ziplock plastic bags for each one and we put the extra parts inside along with the color coding. Like I said, these issues aren't really a big deal and we're very happy with the outcome of our little art project. I'm sure we will definitely order different paintings for ourselves and maybe take a few home for small gift ideas.
