Actually, I hope I'll never use it, but when the need arises, I suspect this block will come in handy. This replaces McMurdo's quick search which I had for 8 years and never used. The battery in the quick search still shows a full charge after all these years, but I figured it would be better to swap out and upgrade. Both devices are good, I just appreciate the ResQLink's longer signal life. The only downside is that it's almost impossible to attach the belt clip to the device (don't give up), and despite all the issues, the buckle on the belt clip is too wide and won't stay on your belt or backpack. In addition, the antenna can rotate when thrown into a bag or backpack. never mind
