Bad product with even worse customer service

I'm pretty sure I had a defective product where the door mechanism didn't work properly. I would probably give 5 stars because it seems like a good microwave for the price, but because of the terrible customer service from Kenmore I will never buy a Kenmore product again. Here's the kicker: I was asked to try and fix it. Revane because they didn't want to take a refund. I agreed because I believe this is a defective product and the manufacturer should take care of it. I contacted Kenmore Appliance Repair and the first rep said I could just bring it to the Sears Appliance repair location and they would fix it for me at no charge. Well I went to 2 of them that I found on google. Imagine if they didn't exist. This led me to a closed Sears store and then to K-Mart who had no idea what I was talking about to fix it. I called Sears Appliance Repair again and they said they would be happy to send a technician to fix the microwave. He set up a meeting with me and then said it would cost $109 just for a tech to look at it and extra for repairs. It's more expensive than a microwave. I of course declined and was upset at this point because it's a brand new microwave. After that he tried to sell me his services for a renovation plan. are you kidding? I figured I'd call back the next day to see if there was anyone I could speak to that would be more reasonable. I ran into the same issue and they said they wouldn't fix it for free since I didn't purchase an extended warranty plan. It's brand new. There was nothing they could do, they said. I asked them to refer me to management or someone so I can resolve this issue. They did, but there was no reply. The next day I called Sears support and spoke to someone who was sane and knew what was going on. He told me that if the purchase was made within 30 days it would be in Revain's hands. If it is outside of 30 days to 1 year, repair or replace the microwave. So I called Revane back and explained my situation. Thankfully, Revain's customer service is great and they're willing to return the microwave. I think this microwave could be great, but it doesn't seem like a good company (Sear has filed for bankruptcy in the past) and I would never buy a Kenmore again because of it.
