Reproducing a historical firearm from the 18 length of a 55" cherry foregrip. Inexplicably and inexcusably, I tripped two beads by about 3-4 inches on top of each other .I must have crossed my eyes cutting this section.I was at a loss as to what to do.I discovered Timbermate and the claims made about him sounded too good to be true.Well I had nothing to lose.It works as advertised!I filled in the damaged area and let it dry overnight then cut out the beads again. It is hard and brittle and needs to be handled with care. The question remained how would she take the stain? The long straight section would stick out like a thumb if the stain wasn't lined up.I again applied two coats of sealant to the stem and l let it dry overnight. I applied three coats: cherry, walnut and a coat of ebony to add red accents through the brown and aging patina. I can't find the Timbermate repair. Now the function of its "invisibility" in this case is the layering of the stain. I am very happy and fortunate to have discovered this product and it is now a staple on my shelf.
