Revainrating 5 out of 5

Very familiar with the scale and very happy with the scale

First of all, to be clear, Weight Watcher employees become members before they can become employees. As employees, we must maintain our weight. As you might expect, it's not always easy. I've been working for them for almost 12 years and my weight is getting better and worse and lately I've become more focused and hit my staff approved best weight. I recently had a two week vacation in Florida. The thought of how easily I could get out of control worried me, and I looked to Revain for a travel scale. I came across this Newline scale with a suitcase. I bought it a week before I left and was able to test its consistency and accuracy before leaving town to see how much confidence I should have in the results. I was very happy with what I saw. Not only have I compared the scale daily to my home scale, which I am very familiar with, but also to two scales that have recently been government certified for weights and measures. What I found is that this scale performed very well in those few individual comparisons - UNTIL IT WAS ON THE CARPET. As far as I remember, the lack of carpet is one of the usage instructions that I think some users ignore. I also compared the scale to two of my home scales to determine everyday accuracy. I did this every 10 days I had before the trip. There I found that the scale was still great for my purposes, but I found that I could get some minor incorrect readings. By that I mean less than a half pound weight loss. Since I was comparing to the other two scales, if I saw a difference I would reweigh it on a travel scale and it would suddenly correct itself. I've learned from this that it would be better for me to perform more than once each time I weigh myself, as the first time I weigh myself, it can be a bit off. Then I traveled for two weeks. As I left that morning, I weighed myself and tossed the scale into my large bag. I was afraid to throw it in my suitcase because it's glass and also I have no idea what it will look like on an x-ray and I'd rather not give an apology to security. But I am glad that I bought the additional case. I weighed myself every morning. Every time I weigh myself, I rise three times. Invariably, all three were the same, or at worst, two of the three were the same. It was great to have an idea of how my vacation choices affected my weight. I cried out on day 7 but it was still great to know about it. I continued to weigh myself for a full two weeks and weighed myself on the last morning before throwing the scale back in my hand luggage for the flight home (day 14 was slightly lower than day 7 thanks to the travel scale). For two days after the trip, I continued to weigh myself on both the street and home scales. The travel scale was still accurate and on day two I gained less than 1 pound over a full two weeks of travel. Incidentally, my husband, who is over 1.80m tall, also used the scale daily and was very pleased to know how his weight was. This scale will become a staple of my travel essentials. Next fall he will go to France. Oh and finally this scale saved me money as my travel luggage scale ran out of battery and I used this scale to weigh my suitcases. They weighed 49.5 and 49.6 at registration. ☺ But before using the scale, you weighed a solid over 50 pounds and I had to adjust its contents. The overweight bag fine is $50 or $75 and I happily avoided it. Pros: I think I've got it covered. Cons: Some minor deviations, but very acceptable to me for this purpose. It can also be difficult to get used to stepping on and balancing on a scale. Practice makes perfect, but I also found that if the scale was about a foot or so from the wall, I could help myself balance myself against the wall with two index fingers. This does not affect the results on the scale. I love Libra and show it to my family, colleagues and members.

Pros
  • That's amazing
Cons
  • Expensive insurance
