One tube of the pole is inserted into the other as if it were the wrong size. The threads on the male or female ends didn't just look. They were of two different sizes as one entered the other freely. A manufacturing defect - and a pretty egregious one. They shouldn't have final quality checks, or they just skipped this check. Returned. I ordered a different version from a different brand. I would have kept it if the milestone had been assembled correctly. However, I was also disappointed by the brightness. It probably worked as advertised, but wasn't bright enough for the space it was intended for. Either the lumens weren't listed or I didn't know how low they were. I forgot. It will work well as a reading lamp.
