After a long search and search for a monitor to replace our Samsung, which stopped working almost two years later, I decided on this one. We needed a monitor that can control 2 rooms at the same time. We sleep on a different floor from the kids and can't hear them at all with the window air conditioner running, so we had to rely on the monitor to work with no signal loss. Here's what I like about it: 1. The monitor switches between 2 (up to 4) cameras every 20 seconds so we can quickly hear if something is wrong in one of the rooms.2. The volume can be adjusted on the parent unit. Volume could only be adjusted through the cameras on our old monitor, and this feature made a huge difference for us. We don't need to sneak into the room to adjust the volume.3. The feature that lets you look around the room is amazing. Even our oldest daughter doesn't notice the camera movement unless she's looking directly at it, so it shouldn't be too loud. I didn't think we needed this feature but I like it now that we have it. We can move it to see if the baby is moving in the cradle and make sure our 3 year old stays in bed. I like the temperature function. Again, I thought this wasn't the feature we wanted, but it's useful for checking the room temperature when the heat/AC is off between seasons. I actually like that there is always sound coming out of the monitor (unless you've muted it) so I know it's on and the volume settings are correct. We only hear white noise from sound machines so it doesn't bother us.6. This monitor seems to work quite a distance from the cameras. I can take it outside to the garage and basement (my old monitor had problems in both places).7. The monitor will beep when the camera is out of range. I was looking for this feature and some brands didn't.8. The talk function was a must for us. I use it for my oldest daughter when she gets out of bed or when I want to tell her that she can get up without having to go down the stairs. When I first used the talk function she was a little scared but now she's used to it. Battery life is ok. We usually use it around 3-4 hours during the day and it has enough battery life for that. I turn it on at night. Here's what could be better: 1. I would appreciate if the picture appears if there is noise (crying) in one of the rooms. I always turn on the picture when I hear crying, and the picture on our old monitor turned on automatically. Unlike some reviewers who noted difficulty pressing the correct keys in the dark, I didn't have such an issue. 2. I need to set it to cycle through both cameras every time. It's just a little annoying; The big problem is that it shows the character above as if it's repeating itself, but it doesn't. If you don't get that, you could go to bed thinking it would cycle and then one of the kids would skip. Some other monitors have better ratings. However, many of these reviews were based on using just one camera. This monitor came closest to what I had in mind and overall we are happy with it.
