This set of two frames was an attractive purchase due to the inclusion of two passe-partouts. The frame itself is exactly as advertised. Carbonized Black is a shade of light wood with darker streaks and stains for a weathered or rustic look. For the most part, this effect is done pretty well, but there are a few spots that look a little sloppy. Hung on the wall, it looks decent. The rugs I received were cut slightly smaller than the stated measurements, but it didn't make much of a difference. The carpets served their purpose and they were durable, thicker than I expected. It was a nice bonus. However, as several reviewers noted, there are rust stains on the carpets. The mat, which is kept near the back of the photo frame, is recognized and labeled by the equipment. In my case, I needed a rug sized to be stain free, so that worked in my favor. This is the luck of the draw. The frame is not on a flat surface. It was not created to do anything, but to be hanged. The jagged struts on my frames appear to be glued on. I don't think the glue will peel off over time and break the frame. So I installed my own mounts, which worked like clockwork. The hardware holding the back of the frame worked well, rotating easily and holding my photo securely in place. Do not worry. The glass on the front of the frame was of excellent quality but needed a thorough cleaning on both sides. There was some kind of water stain on the surface but a bit thicker. Even with the work of the elbow, I am happy with my purchase. It was a great deal and I will probably buy another set. I think it's just a matter of understanding what quality you're getting and if you're willing to take the risk if a carpet gets dirty. I need them for an art project and I don't regret the price. Recommended with many reservations.
