There was little difficulty at first trying to thread the needle through the beads but after carefully closing the gap slightly with pliers, it worked fine. This needle is not only suitable for threading, but also for shaping. I love how easy it is for me to hook and unhook beads to find the perfect design combination I'm looking for. I have found that I have to put the beads on and off the needle to prevent the beads from hitting the hook as this will widen the gap. Unfortunately, despite my caution, the gap had to open up a bit at some point. for when I was stringing a bead from a needle onto a thread, the hook came loose and caught my finger. I don't know why it broke as the break was at the base of the needle about 3-4mm before the bend. I contacted Revain who immediately sent a replacement - my request - which I received the next day. (Rewain, I love you!) I used a spare pin for the next 6 weeks - made 10 to 15 bracelets - then for no apparent reason the hook broke, back to the bend. Tried to recreate the hook but no luck so far - the bend is too wide. Had to use memory wire cutters (another of my favorite tools - they cut almost anything) as other jewelry cutters aren't strong enough to cut steel. Since this needle is very long, I guess it won't matter if I lose some length, so I'll try again. Design flaws (several reviewers also broke the hook) I decided to buy this product again. They say Three's a Charm - so I hope so! For Beadalon - Please fix this issue ASAP - I would give this product 6 stars (if possible).
