Not a 2100 carb best in my review

Overall, I'm OK with this item. However, I was trying to replace a true Motorcraft 2100 carburetor. A couple of notable differences. On this one, there is a vacuum(?) fitting on the top (visible in the photos on Revain) that is not on the 2100. Additionally, on this one the vacuum assist(?) for the choke is external mounted on the back whereas the 2100 has an internal vacuum pump to do the same thing. The extrusions are a little different too which necessitated modifying the riser for the airโ€ฆ

  • Do not buy this product. Looks cheap and is bad quality. I ordered 4 and 3 were return by my customers.
Cons
  • Fuel port threads were jacked up and I had to retap the threads. You get what you pay for.

Putting this on a 4.2L Jeep? READ THIS!

Put this on my '87 YJ after doing the nutter bypass. Some things you should know before buying this carburetor that I learned after MONTHS of headaches. 1) This is a Motorcraft 2150, NOT a 2100. 2) This has the 1.14 venturi, ideally you want the 1.08 from what I've read. 3) The Mr. Gasket 1937 adapter will cause you to have a massive vacuum leak on the base of the carb. 4) You will need to fabricate an adapter or buy one from a guy on ebay who you'll read about in the hundreds of forum threadsโ€ฆ

I would buy another

Installed on my Eagle SX4. Easy peasy and a few small tweaks to the idle screws, a turn of the choke cap and moved the pump arm rod one hole. 5 minutes after warm up and it runs fantastic.

Convertible to a California Carb

Arrived nicely packed. Well cast and machined. Drill one hole, install one "hose stub" in that hole and your set to install. Worked great, idled 950 rpm out of the box.

Worked flawlessly on my review.

I didn't expect much from this carb so I also ordered a factory original that I found for $30. I figured that if the ALAVENTE wasn't any good that I'd just put the other one on. My fears were unfounded. After making sure that the fasteners were all tight and everything looked clean I slapped it on the engine.Well, a stuck lifter and a stuck valve on different cylinders plus a starter later I got the 1966 Ford F100 240 I6 fired up. Running from a Holley electric fuel pump this bad boy worksโ€ฆ

Idles too fast: my feedback

Installed on a 1967 chevy with a 292. It works but the engine will not idle right. My truck doesn't have an rpm gauge but I would guess it's currently about 1200 rpm idle. There is no way to lower it, the engine just dies if you try to unscrew the idle adjustment. I've also tried messing with the mixture screw at the bottom, no help. This motor should have no problem idleing at 6-800 rpm. I think it's improperly jetted or something. Did not come with any paperwork, instructions, specs, nothingโ€ฆ

Do a VERY thorough check before you start installation.

Didn't realize one of the arms/levers was bent (not a sharp bend, but not straight like it's supposed to be, either) until halfway through the swap. Already had the old one out and new gaskets/sealant on the new one before we noticed something wasn't quite right. We were able to bend it back well enough to get it in and working (it's just a mud/farm truck anyway, but still), BUT it added time to the project and caused a headache. Truck runs prime good for me

Great carb, after this my truck always starts right up and has way more instant power, so much that my engine seized but that was my fault by not fixing the head gasket. Truck was so mint when it ran with this carb tho. Highly recommend

Not for early pontiac engines.

Did not work well as a replacement carb on my 1967 pontiac lemans 326 engine. I'm sure there are other applications/engines that it might work on better. Was worth a try for the money.

Great item, worked perfectly! It would have been a trouble free install had I not twisted the choke heat riser tube off the manifold. No worries, I replaced new choke actuator with the electric one from old carb. PRESTO! Right as rain, thanks Alavente great product.

Installed on a 1977 Bronco w/302. Had to make one small mod by swapping the power valve housing on the bottom of carb. Not a big deal. Linkage was perfect fit for the automatic C4. It came w/a new base gasket. Just bolted it on, fired it up and drove it- no other adjustments needed. Idle setting and air/fuel seemed good to go.Side note: If your car or truck has an original style A/C system think about buying an idle up Solenoid to give the RPMโ€™s a little bump up when the compressor clutch kicks

Not a direct bolt on.

Not a direct bolt on as advertised for a 1984 Nissan 720 NapZ 2.4 gas as advertised. Works very well after mods to make it fit. This is a restoration project with some improvements to original factory short cuts. I'm happy with the results and the fuel economy. Original Hitachi had lots of problems with plugging up, too many small jets.

looks good, quality?

worked great started right up when put on with no tuning but 2 minutes into run it was leaking gas from bottom of bowl so returned it for a different one. then got the new one 2 days later, took it out of box and that one was previously returned by someone that had it installed. was missing base gasket and linkage was bent so sent that back and taking money elsewhere.

No matter what you do will not stay in tune. And then was driving and smelled gas and it was leaking out of overflow! Adjusted float and still got stuck and overflowed again. Junk

Exact fit and great price!
