Good replacement for a worn out carb.

Worked well out of the box w/o tuning on a freshened up Ford 300 with 240 head. Consideration needs to be made for the thermal choke if your application had a manual one. I didn’t see an obvious way to make it manual without modifying it significantly. (Didn’t want to hack it up before seeing it run!) The fitting on the choke housing seems bleed from the idle circuit. Copper tubing wrapping the exhaust manifold between the air cleaner housing and choke mechanism seems like a good option. But, I

Pros
  • Perfect for the money
Cons
  • Poor fuel metering ability

Looks Good - my new review

BUT I installed the Carb , turn the key on electric pump and gas was coming out the top pipe and bottom linkage . Had the carb in shop for about 6 months in a cool dark place still in box never open up just put on today and gas problems and the return has expired of curse .

Pros
  • They work great! Need to reject for altitude
Cons
  • Instructions unclear or missing altogether

It works alright but cheap parts fail.

Used this carburetor on my 1967 GMC truck with a 351 GMC V6 (yes V6) with an adapter plate. Carburetor worked well and the truck ran good, but the choke thermostat did fail fairly quickly and the choke pull off developed a vacuum leak and failed to work after about 2 months of use. Funny thing is the choke thermostat and choke pull off cost about half of what this carburetor cost! I was able to obtain both parts from the local parts store to repair it. All in all for the price, I would buy it…

Pros
  • Works as described on my vw beetle. Came in a timely manner.
Cons
  • Unreliable fuel filter system

Falls apart could cause major engine damage.

Don't waste your time or money! Bought this few months back, finally got truck up and running. Ran fine for about 40 miles then it started acting up, then throttle got stuck. Found one of the venturi's fall out of its assembly and blocked the throttle plates from opening. Luck I was just down the block and able to idle home. Being new I was hoping to warranty, exchange or return but it seems those are not options. Will not buy again.Update: I pulled the venturi assy from the orginal 2100…

Pros
  • Greatly reduces exhaust emissions for a cleaner environment
Cons
  • Produces inconsistent fuel pressure readings

Plastic internals, garbage!

Bought this carb for a old 22r toyota, installed and could not get the idle leaned out enough. Discovered carburetor leaking internally causing a very rich idle. Opened it up and found many parts are plastic and fit poorly. Do not buy! Get a weber or holley and save yourself the frustration.

Pros
  • I have a 1978 F150 with 300 inline six and the carb worked out great.
Cons
  • Prone to vapor lock
