Works exactly like it should

I bought this to remove both fuel sending units from a 2008 Hyundai Santa Fe. Hyundai gives you easy access once you remove the rear seats, but the lock rings are really on there. Would have been difficult if not impossible to use the "chisel" method to spin the lock rings off due to the fact that they are slightly recessed below the floor of the vehicle. This sucker locks in nice and tight. I had a 2.5 foot 1/2 drive ratchet on it and it popped the lock ring with ease. It puts them back on…

Pros
  • Makes changing fuel pumps super easy .
Cons
  • Worked

Buy this tool even if you never use it again

I really grumbled about spending the $26 on this stupid tool because last fuel pump replacement I did ok with the hammer and chisle (or so I thought). Buy the tool. It takes thirty minutes less to do the job, there's no blood involved and you don't bend the stupid retaining ring with a hammer like I did causing a leak. The tool is very strong, cast not sheet metal.

Pros
  • I like how strong it is.
Cons
  • hoping this would fit my 2006 cobalt. nope. my fault for not verifying prior to purchase.

Won’t work for stubbornly stubborn locking rings

My 2014 challenger SXT Plus decided it was time to kill my fuel pump. Got this tool thinking it would make it easy to remove. No. It didn’t even budge. Im a strong guy and I I’m sure the stud on my breaker bar would have broken before it turned my locking ring. Wound up using the old school method of hammer and chisel ( flat head ) got it off faster. This thing is sturdy though it didn’t flex or bend but it also just couldn’t get the job done. I won’t need a fuel pump for another 100k miles so…

Pros
  • Tool works well
Cons
  • More heavy duty than I expected. Fast delivery. Good tool.

Great tool and very well made!

Fits perfectly for the Chrysler 300c fuel tank rings. It is very well made and durable, I before used "alternative means" to change my pumps that took a long time and this tool enables me to set everything in place and snap the ring into position rapidly. The tool is a keeper!

Pros
  • Worked perfectly for removing and installing a fuel pump in my 2008 Dodge Magnum.
Cons
  • May be more expensive than other fuel tank removal tools

If you're thinking about it. BUY IT

Very heavy duty. I am not sure I could have put that ring on the old fashioned way with a hammer and punch. The new O-ring takes so much force to compress I had to put an extension handle on my breaker bar. So glad I bought it. Used on 2006 Dodge Charger

Pros
  • Haven't used this yet, but quality and build is great. No need to spend extra $$$.
Cons
  • Could lead to fuel system contamination if used improperly

My 07 Santa Fe has two fuel level sensors and one was dying. If I was going through the trouble of doing one, no sense not doing both. At 15 with over 200k, lets just say they were stubborn. I used the tool with my floor jack handle over my ratchet handle for leverage and I still needed to put my back against the wall and use my leg/foot to break it loose. Both sides! The tool held up like a champ. It's a good thing too, because putting the locks back on with the new gasket was just as hard. I…

Pros
  • Easy fuel tank removal
Cons
  • Not suitable for use on vehicles with damaged or dented fuel tanks

Great tool to open your fuel tank!

Works just like factory tool for Hyundai Elantra & Sante Fe! This tool is a MUST if you want to open your fuel tank and fix faulty fuel sensors. It is made of a heavy duty steel. When you start opening your fuel tank you will see why, for you need a lot of leverage and force to open pressurized tanks.Great product for the money, Saved me a lot by doing it myself. So happy to get this tool!

Pros
  • Beast of a tool!
Cons
  • Can only be used by those with experience in auto repair

Heavy duty for sure

Very well built and a solid hunk of a metal tool. It was still difficult to remove the lock ring on my 2005 Ford Ranger, even with a 20-inch breaker bar -- but to be fair it was factory installed 17+ years ago. Putting ring back on was a little easier but not by much. Maybe I'm just weakling.

Pros
  • Eco-friendly: With its efficient fuel tank lock, this tool ensures fuel sustainability, reducing fuel consumption and promoting an eco-friendly environment
Cons
  • May be uncomfortable to use for an extended period of time

Great tool best in my review

A very needed tool for removing lock rings in gas tanks. It will withstand a lot of pressure. The fingers lock onto the ring perfect with no chance of slipping. A++

Pros
  • Made my job so much easier!!!
Cons
  • Could be easily damaged if dropped or mishandled

Strong enough for the tightest fuel lock ring

OK - this baby really works. I had given up on the removal of the lock ring on my ram diesel def tank, but saw this and thought I’d give it one last try. My chisels would not budge this lock ring, but with this tool and a breaker bar, it popped it off. I was thanking God for this valuable tool.

Pros
  • Easy to store: With its compact size and shape, you can easily store it in your toolbox or garage without taking up much space
Cons
  • Not recommended for use on vehicles with custom fuel systems or modifications

Don’t expect a ton of uses in a professional environment

Was decent the first couple uses, but does bend. Its okay for the price, but if you are constantly doing fuel pumps on chrysler rigs you will go through these. Had to reshape mine a few times due to the bottom grips that go on the caps bending.

Pros
  • Ergonomic grip: The tool comes with an ergonomically designed grip that provides comfort and precision with each use, allowing you to work for hours without fatigue
Cons
  • Could potentially damage the fuel pump motor during removal/installation

Not for Honda CRV for my opinion

Really well built tool. Doesn’t fit Honda CRV. Had to return and purchase the Lisle 63000 fuel tank lock ring tool that worked perfectly

Pros
  • Affordability: This fuel tank lock ring tool is a cost-effective solution that saves you costly visits to the mechanic and prolonged car maintenance periods
Cons
  • May require additional cleaning of the fuel tank area after use

A MUST HAVE TOOL! on my review.

Save yourself alot of headaches this tool does in 2 minutes what it would take to try pounding off the ring in 2 hours this is a must have tool if your replacing the fuel level sensors!

Pros
  • FITMENT: Fits for Dodge Ram 1500 2500 3500 4500, for Dodge Charger Dodge Challenger SXT, for Hyundai Elantra Tuscan Sonata, for 2007-2012 Hyundai Sante Fe, for SAAB 9-3 03-11, for Saab 9-5 2008, for Chevy Silverado Malibu Maxx Colorado Avalanche Trailblazer Camaro SS (Please check the size before purchase)
Cons
  • Could damage other components surrounding the fuel pump sender during removal/installation

It worked. best in my review

It worked well on a 2008 Cadillac DTS. It does take more torque than one would expect. A longer breaker bar is helpful That's my feedback.

Pros
  • Used it a couple of Times on a 2007 Santa Fe.
Cons
  • May take longer than other fuel tank removal tools to complete the job

If the size fits your vehicle

I use this product and it worked fabulous my only concern was if it fit my vehicles clamp. I tried to remove the clap without this tool and was very difficult. Best tool worked like a charm and is a true time saver

Pros
  • Less expensive than similar products and worked perfectly.
Cons
  • Could break or malfunction during use

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Gets the job done quickly, this tool is a super shortcut.

This tool is an absolute lifesaver. Or timesaver. Both. The lock ring on my Magnum was like welded to the car. No matter how hard I beat on it with a hammer and chisel it wouldn't budge. This thing plus a pull handle had it off with just a tug. I've seen other people fabricate their own tool for this, but most of us don't have welding gear or knowledge. This thing is solid as a rock too. No bending or deforming, it just gets the job done. Great product, great price, fast shipping with Prime.

Pros
  • This tool is needed to secure the floor cover of the fuel pump. Nothing else works.
Cons
  • Not safe to use on vehicles currently in operation (must be safely lifted and supported

Perfect tool for the job.

Worked great, very heavy duty. Put 1/2" socket wrench on tool, put medium pressure to remove or replace keeper ring and tap side of tool with hammer and it works perfectly. Doesn't hurt to add a little lube to high points of keeper ring.

Pros
  • I was about to get my fuel pump ring off and on in the mins! Highly recommended! Buy this now!
Cons
  • Could potentially scratch or damage the fuel tank

Revainrating 5 out of 5

6 stars.worth every penny!

There is almost zero chance of getting the ring on with a new gasket without this tool.that no one loans out. I tried! This is super solid 1/2" drive.and it took a breaker bar to snap the ring into the last notch. $20 + 2 minutes = 1/2" movement.priceless.well, it will save you $500 at least. :-)

Pros
  • Fácil de usar, muy útil y bueno 👍
Cons
  • May not provide precise positioning for fuel pump sender installation

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Stout and heavy tool

This spanner is much heavier than I expected. I used it and it’s 10x easier than using a hammer and punch to remove the ring.

Pros
  • yes tool worked out perfectly. made the job easy
Cons
  • May not come with clear instructions for use

Perfect fit for 2011 Ram 2500 Diesel

This worked for my 2011 Ram 2500 Diesel. After replacing the fuel sending unit, it was not possible to reinstall the retaining ring with a screw driver and hammer, it just required too much compression on the o-ring. With this tool and a 24 inch breaker bar, I was finally able to get the ring back into the locked position.

Pros
  • Oh man. What a knuckle saver!!!!!
Cons
  • Could result in a fuel leak or other hazard if used improperly
