I'm using it as a tripod for my cell phone, but it's proving to be a little wobbly for a little repositioning. This may be due to the swivel, which is made of plastic. However, the top that holds the phone is stiff, which is a good thing. The three legs can also bear the weight of the phone. Still worth the money if you're just using it for basic purposes, lighting things like a phone or something smaller.
