Review on Farberware Pro Can Opener with Bottle Opener, Pistachio - Efficient and Versatile Kitchen Tool in One Size! by Jessica Boucher

UPDATE: Broke in less than 8 months

EDIT after about 8 months of moderate use: I was very disappointed to see a good can opener break within 8 months. It turned out to be a quality product from a respected company so I was shocked to see such an early rejection. The handle actually started spinning freely without turning the gears. I took it apart to fix it, but the mechanism holding the grip screws was ripped off. After spending about 10-15 minutes reattaching and threading it, I gave up and threw it away. The threads that the handle goes into are very fine and the metal is soft enough to strip the threads and there isn't enough material to fix the threads. Most people would just throw it away without trying to fix it, but I decided to give it a try - no luck. Go from a 5-step first impression check to a 1-step check based on longer experience. THE FIRST REVIEW BELOW IS BASED ON FIRST IMPRESSIONS: * Large plastic handles and grip make it comfortable to use and easy to grip - don't strain both hands * Mechanism is very smooth, turns easily and quietly * Color is pastel green (pistachio) . attractive * Bottle opener at the end is a nice touch as it's always nice to have on hand in case you can't find a bottle opener * Looks well built and I expect it to last

Pros
  • ERGONOMIC HANDLES: Designed for maximum comfort and control
Cons
  • poorly thought out
